EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy is a psychotherapist's tool used as part of a treatment plan.

EMDR is an abbreviation of the words Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. The basis of the method is the customer's own life experiences, as well as the ability and will to face difficult emotions related to their experiences.

EMDR therapy provides an opportunity to work through difficult experiences and memories that disturb the present life. Using the method can significantly speed up recovery from a traumatic event and reduce the stress experienced by the client from past events.

The client gets a more realistic view of the past event, and he can more calmly think of what happened as a part of his life history. Changes might occur in mental images, feelings, body and beliefs.
